Embedded within every piece of content is the intention to prompt the shift of one’s perspective. The creation of my artwork is a product of my socialization, heritage, and experiences. The way in which I navigate through the production of my artwork is completely visceral. Being a self-taught artist, I find that a  lot of my whims and ideas are innate features I have been developing since I was a child. The contrast of realities is something that has been engraved into my mental due to my family history and roots. As my parents found refuge from Afghanistan in Canada, I understood the existence of harsh realities and have been fixated ever since. This stemmed into a deep rooted motivation; to just merely point out that there are intensely contrasted realities existing and happening as we speak, as you comprehend this piece of artwork. This act of pointing out these existences is my approach to bring recognition and redirect our interests and attentions to basic human needs; something that the world fails to prioritize.

Further explaining my art form, I as an artist, I seek to inform and challenge. I integrate elements of eastern society alongside western, vintage with modern, as well as taboo ideas with that which is mainstream. My distinct quality and theme promote an edgy yet provocative aesthetic which dizzy and captivate my viewers. Keeping with that which is mainstream, I still manage to maintain a relevant feel to engage my viewers and branch out to fashion, music, and film platforms.

As a young woman, child to successful immigrant parents,  with getting my work seen or heard, I could finally give back to them a fraction of what they’ve given to me; an environment in which I could get educated and explore the vastness of the art world through the access to all of these resources.
